JW Aussies
About us
We are a close knit family of 6 living in the rolling hills and mountains of PA.

My experience with dogs goes way back to my childhood. We lived in a remote area near mt. davis and people were constantly dropping unwanted dogs off near us. My mom felt bad for them so we'd feed them. So I grew up around dogs, all breeds, all sizes, temperaments, etc.

Once I married my husband, I took a college certified course on dog training.
Shortly after that I worked temporarily at a local dog grooming salon.

We bred AKC boxers in the first years that my husband and I were married. Then we found English Mastiffs and fell in love with them. We bred and raised AKC English Mastiffs for several years till it was time to retire our mastiff pair. Once they passed away of old age, we weren't sure what our next venture would be.

My main occupation is my Photography Business. JW Photography. And it keeps me pretty busy, so for several years we didn't put much thought into raising any certain breed of dogs.

We bought our first border collie puppy in 2017. We fell in LOVE. We bought her as an early Christmas gift for our oldest daughter. But immediately we ALL fell in love with Xena. We had no plans of breeding at that time. Just wanted a companion for our daughter.

A year later we decided to get an australian shepherd. We had a toy australian shepherd at one time and loved the breed. We bought Koda. A full blood standard size Australian Shepherd. He was such a fluff ball! We brought him home and our border collie "Xena" wanted nothing to do with him. But eventually as he grew they became good buddies.
We fell in love with BOTH dogs and BOTH breeds!
Xena is so loveable and sweet, and SUPER intelligent. And she has an intuition ... she connects with us on an emotional level that I don't think any dog has EVER connected with us in such a way! She expresses her feelings to us ... when she does something bad she will act depressed. She does not like to disapoint!
And Koda - he's such a lover boy! And so gorgeous!
We expect the two of them to make gorgeous, intelligent, loveable, healthy fluff ball puppies.
We've recently decided to add a few more fur balls to our family and will be welcoming Comet, Rose & Molly (standard size full blooded australian shepherds) to our family.

Our plan for the future is to have some border aussie puppies summer/fall 2019 if all goes as planned. And perhaps fall 2020 we could possibly have some full blood aussie pups. If you're interested in a pup, please click the link to add your information to our contact list.
Thank you!
